The God Who Sees – El Roi

Have you ever felt unseen—like your pain, your prayers, or your presence didn’t matter?

In Genesis 16, we meet Hagar, a woman cast aside and left to wander in the wilderness. She was rejected, alone, and pregnant—yet in her moment of deepest despair, God came to her.

He didn’t pass her by.
He didn’t wait for her to be perfect.
He met her right where she was—and revealed Himself as El Roi, “The God Who Sees.”

“You are the God who sees me,” for she said, “I have now seen the One who sees me.” – Genesis 16:13

This is the heart of our God.
He sees the broken.
He sees the weary.
He sees you.

At Jesus Calls World Outreach Ministries, we believe in the healing power of a God who sees every tear, every cry, and every silent prayer. El Roi is not distant—He is near. He is the God who watches over you with compassion and calls you by name.

A Word of Hope
If you’re walking through a wilderness season, take heart: you are not invisible to God. Just as He saw Hagar, He sees you. He knows your story, and He is writing redemption into every chapter.

– Prayer
“Lord Jesus, thank You for being El Roi—the God who sees me.
When I feel forgotten, remind me that You are near.
When I feel broken, remind me that You are healing.
Help me to trust Your presence and rest in Your love. Amen.”

Faith for the Impossible: Trusting God Beyond Limits

Faith for the Impossible: Trusting God Beyond Limits

Have you ever faced a situation that seemed impossible? A mountain too big to climb, a dream too far to reach, or a problem with no solution in sight? The good news is that our God specializes in the impossible.

In Matthew 19:26, Jesus says, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” This verse is a powerful reminder that our faith is not in our strength or resources but in the limitless power of God.

Faith calls us to believe in what we cannot see and trust in what we cannot control. It’s not about denying reality but about acknowledging that God’s power is greater than any obstacle. Just as He parted the Red Sea, fed thousands with a few loaves and fish, and raised the dead, He can work miracles in your life today.

When faced with the impossible, don’t give up. Instead, turn to prayer, immerse yourself in His Word, and hold tightly to His promises. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Let that assurance fill your heart as you trust God to do what only He can do.

Remember, the God who created the universe is the same God who is with you now. No matter how impossible your situation seems, He is able. So keep believing, keep praying, and keep trusting. With God, nothing is out of reach!

Building Healthy Relationships: Loving Like Jesus in a Broken World

Building Healthy Relationships: Loving Like Jesus in a Broken World

Relationships are at the core of who we are. We long to be loved, understood, and connected—to feel seen and valued. Yet, in a world filled with hurt, misunderstandings, and unmet expectations, relationships can often bring pain instead of joy. Still, there is hope. God designed us for meaningful relationships, and through Him, we can find the strength to love, forgive, and grow.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” – John 13:34

Jesus calls us to love like He does—selflessly, sacrificially, and unconditionally. But let’s be honest, that’s not always easy. People can disappoint us, and sometimes, we even disappoint ourselves. But when we invite God into our relationships, He can bring healing, restoration, and a deeper sense of connection than we ever thought possible.

The Heart of Healthy Relationships

1. Loving Even When It Hurts
Real love is more than just a warm feeling; it’s a choice—a daily decision to love even when it’s hard. Christ loved us at our worst, and He calls us to extend that same grace to others. Whether it’s a friend who has let us down or a family member who has hurt us, love requires patience and forgiveness.

“Love is patient, love is kind… It keeps no record of wrongs.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Love means showing kindness when we’d rather stay silent, and choosing to stay when walking away feels easier. It’s about being present, even when relationships feel messy and complicated.

2. Communication That Heals, Not Hurts
We’ve all said things we wish we could take back. Words have power—to build up or to tear down. God calls us to speak life, to listen with an open heart, and to offer grace in our words. Healthy relationships thrive when we communicate with honesty and gentleness, choosing to listen more than we speak.

“Let your conversation be always full of grace.” – Colossians 4:6

If communication in your relationships feels broken, remember, it’s never too late to start fresh. A simple “I’m sorry” or “I love you” can begin the healing process.

3. Forgiving When It’s the Hardest Thing to Do
Forgiveness is one of the hardest, yet most powerful acts of love. Holding onto past hurts only weighs us down and keeps us from experiencing the fullness of God’s peace. Jesus forgave those who betrayed and abandoned Him—how much more should we strive to forgive?

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” – Ephesians 4:32

Forgiveness doesn’t mean forgetting the pain, but it means choosing to release it to God and trusting Him to heal our hearts in His perfect timing.

4. Setting Boundaries That Protect Your Heart
Love doesn’t mean losing yourself. Healthy relationships require boundaries—knowing when to say yes, and when to say no. Boundaries aren’t walls to shut people out; they are gates that let the right things in while keeping the harmful things out. Protecting your heart allows you to love freely without resentment.

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23

5. Walking Together in Faith
The strongest relationships are those built on a shared foundation of faith. Whether it’s a spouse, a friend, or a family member, relationships flourish when Christ is at the center. Praying together, worshiping together, and seeking God’s will for your relationships can deepen your connection in ways nothing else can.

“A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:12

When Relationships Feel Broken

Maybe right now, you’re struggling in a relationship. Maybe there’s pain, distance, or unresolved conflict that feels impossible to fix. Take heart—God is in the business of restoration. He can bring beauty from ashes and mend what feels broken beyond repair.

God sees your tears, He hears your prayers, and He knows the desires of your heart. Trust Him to guide you in navigating the complexities of love and friendship.

A Prayer for Healing in Relationships

“Lord, You know my heart and the burdens I carry in my relationships. Help me to love as You love—to be patient, kind, and forgiving. Teach me to set healthy boundaries and to trust You with every relationship in my life. Bring healing where there is hurt, restoration where there is brokenness, and joy where there is sorrow. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Final Thoughts

Building healthy relationships isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. With God at the center, we can experience relationships that bring us closer to Him and closer to one another. No matter where you are today, know that He is working in you and through you to create something beautiful.

If you’re looking for encouragement, prayer, or support in your journey, we invite you to connect with us at Jesus Calls World Outreach Ministries. We believe in the power of community and the healing love of Jesus.

Finding Hope in Christ Through Grief: A Journey of Faith and Healing

Finding Hope in Christ Through Grief: A Journey of Faith and Healing
Grief is one of life’s most difficult challenges, touching the hearts of believers and non-believers alike. As Christians, we are not exempt from experiencing loss, sorrow, and heartache, but we have an unshakable hope in Jesus Christ, our Comforter and Healer. Whether mourning the loss of a loved one, the pain of broken relationships, or unexpected life changes, the Lord promises to walk with us through the valley of grief and lead us into His peace.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

Understanding Grief from a Biblical Perspective

Grief is not just an emotional response; it is a deeply spiritual journey. The Bible tells us that even Jesus, the Son of God, experienced grief when He wept at the death of Lazarus (John 11:35). This reminds us that God understands our pain and invites us to bring our burdens to Him.

Throughout Scripture, we see examples of grief expressed through prayer, lament, and surrender to God’s will. The book of Psalms is filled with cries of anguish and longing, yet they always return to the assurance of God’s faithfulness.

The grieving process often involves:

Lamentation: Pouring out our sorrow to God in prayer, as seen in the Psalms.
Surrender: Trusting God with our pain and believing in His greater plan.
Restoration: Allowing God to bring healing and renew our strength.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” – Matthew 5:4

Walking Through Grief with Faith

Although grief may feel overwhelming, God’s Word provides comfort and guidance to help us navigate the journey. Here are a few ways to walk through grief while keeping our faith in Christ:

1. Cling to God’s Presence
In our moments of deepest sorrow, God is closer than we realize. Through prayer and worship, we can invite His peace into our hearts. Even when we don’t understand why loss happens, we can trust that He is sovereign and loving.

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3

2. Find Comfort in God’s Promises
The Bible is filled with promises that provide hope during difficult times. Scriptures such as Isaiah 41:10 remind us that God strengthens and upholds us. Meditating on His promises can bring peace to our troubled hearts.

3. Surround Yourself with a Faith Community
God did not create us to grieve alone. Leaning on the support of fellow believers, family, and friends allows us to receive encouragement and prayer. The church is called to “bear one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2), helping us walk through difficult seasons with hope and love.

4. Surrender Your Pain to Christ
It can be tempting to carry grief alone, but Jesus invites us to cast our burdens upon Him (Matthew 11:28). Surrendering our pain to the Lord allows Him to carry the weight and bring healing to our hearts.

5. Embrace God’s Healing Process
Healing is a journey, not a destination. God works in His perfect timing, bringing beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). While we may never “get over” our losses, we can find peace in knowing that He is with us every step of the way.

Finding Purpose Through Grief

Though grief is painful, it can lead to greater dependence on God and a deeper understanding of His love. Many who experience loss find a new purpose in comforting others, sharing their testimonies, and growing in compassion.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

God can use our pain to bring glory to His name and touch the lives of others. As we lean into His grace, He transforms our sorrow into a testimony of His faithfulness and hope.

Encouragement for Those Grieving

If you are grieving today, know that you are not alone. Jesus is our refuge, and He understands every tear you cry. Allow Him to comfort and guide you through the healing process. Seek Him in prayer, lean on your faith community, and trust that He will restore your joy in time.

A Prayer for the Grieving:
“Heavenly Father, we come to You with heavy hearts, bringing our pain and sorrow before Your throne. We know that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You offer comfort that surpasses all understanding. Lord, heal our wounds, give us strength, and help us trust in Your perfect plan. May Your presence fill our hearts with peace, and may we find hope in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Weathering the Storm: Trusting God in Life’s Difficult Seasons

Weathering the Storm: Trusting God in Life’s Difficult Seasons

Life is full of storms—unexpected trials, painful losses, and overwhelming challenges that test our faith and resilience. Whether it’s a personal crisis, financial struggles, health battles, or emotional turmoil, storms can leave us feeling shaken and unsure of what lies ahead. Yet, as followers of Christ, we are not without hope. Our foundation is built on the unshakable promises of God, who walks with us through every storm and leads us to victory.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” – Isaiah 43:2

Understanding the Purpose of the Storm

Storms in life often come when we least expect them. They can be moments of great testing, but they also present opportunities for spiritual growth and deeper dependence on God. Through the storm, God refines our faith, strengthens our character, and draws us closer to Him.

Consider the story of the disciples caught in the storm on the Sea of Galilee. As the winds raged and the waves crashed, fear overwhelmed them. But Jesus was in the boat with them, and with a single command, He calmed the storm (Mark 4:35-41). This powerful story reminds us that no matter how fierce the storm may be, Jesus is always present, ready to bring peace to our troubled hearts.

How to Weather Life’s Storms with Faith

1. Trust in God’s Sovereignty
When the storm rages around us, we must remind ourselves that God is in control. Nothing catches Him by surprise, and He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Trusting in His sovereignty allows us to rest in the assurance that He is guiding our steps, even when the path is unclear.

2. Stand on God’s Promises
The Bible is filled with promises that provide strength and encouragement in difficult times. When fear and doubt creep in, declare God’s Word over your life:

  • “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” – Exodus 14:14
  • “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
  • “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

Holding onto these promises helps us remain steadfast and hopeful, knowing that God’s Word never fails.

3. Pray Without Ceasing
Prayer is our lifeline in the storm. It connects us to the One who has power over every situation. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to bring everything to God in prayer with thanksgiving, and He will guard our hearts and minds with His peace. Whether it’s a whisper of desperation or a cry for help, God hears and responds to our prayers.

4. Surround Yourself with Godly Support
We were never meant to weather life’s storms alone. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage, uplift, and pray with you. The body of Christ is designed to provide strength and comfort in times of trouble (Galatians 6:2). Lean on your church family, small groups, or trusted mentors who can walk with you through the storm.

5. Worship in the Midst of the Storm
Worship shifts our focus from the size of the storm to the greatness of our God. It’s a powerful act of faith that declares God’s goodness and sovereignty, even when circumstances seem bleak. When Paul and Silas were imprisoned, they chose to worship, and God responded with a miraculous breakthrough (Acts 16:25-26). Worship invites God’s presence into our situation and brings peace that surpasses understanding.

God’s Promises for the Other Side of the Storm

While storms are temporary, God’s love and faithfulness endure forever. He promises to bring restoration, renewal, and purpose out of every trial we face. The challenges we endure today will become testimonies of His faithfulness tomorrow.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” – Psalm 30:5

No matter how fierce the storm may seem, hold fast to the truth that God is with you, strengthening you, and leading you to victory.

Encouragement for Today

If you’re facing a storm in your life right now, remember that you are not alone. God is your refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Take heart, hold on to His promises, and trust that He will bring you through stronger, wiser, and closer to Him.

A Prayer for Strength in the Storm:
“Heavenly Father, I come before You in the midst of this storm, asking for Your peace and guidance. I trust that You are with me, and I surrender my fears to You. Strengthen my faith, Lord, and help me to stand on Your promises. Remind me that You are my refuge and my deliverer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

If you need prayer or encouragement, reach out to our ministry team at Jesus Calls World Outreach Ministries. We are here to stand with you in faith and walk alongside you through life’s storms.

Stay encouraged. God is working on your behalf!
